Whaler RAU IX 1 : 45 - Graupner

Hello
I did a little further today.

The deck superstructure has received its first white paint job but I have to go over there again.

The platform for the Hapune is also on and the first railing strips are also glued.

Small upgrade

I painted and glued the two side parts for the Hapunen platform.
Before I dropped a part and I didn't see where it fell. After a good 10 minutes and even more gray hair, I found the thing in the trash can again. I was already despairing.
Then I picked out the parts for the front mast.

Hello
I did a little more work on the foremast.

Since it was a used kit, I was missing one of this small part.

So I recreated one. It's made of wood but you can't see it afterwards.

Hello
Unfortunately for me things are progressing very slowly.

I don't have the time and there are a lot of little things to tinker with.

That's just part of it, I often don't go fast enough.

I'm just an impatient guy sometimes.

We continued with the mast.
It took a lot of time to get everything together and work my way through the construction plans.
But now I have everything and have made the parts to size.
The lookout buoy......I have to see what I'm doing there, the thing was stowed at some point. Ok, we'll see.

I made something again.

I shortened the crow's nest a little, otherwise the ring with the railing would no longer have fit over it.
It looked like this before and after processing with a large hole for the crow's nest, a small hole where it is placed over the mast and 3 0.8 mm holes for the railing.
Then I prepared the soldering device for the railing, so the glue has to dry first.

So the main mast and the stern mast are finished, except for the painting.

Hello
I'm not entirely happy with the crow's nest yet.

I'll remove the platform for the top lamp again, make it a little smaller or leave it out completely, we'll see.

And I will sand the plate under the crow's nest and then work it with a spatula so that there is a line.

I started today with 2 roller stands. First I looked for the small parts together and after an intensive search for 2 rollers, I discovered that they were missing from the fittings set

OK, there's nothing you can do about that. After thinking about it for a moment, I thought there had to be a replacement.

Traced on 3mm plywood with a compass, roughly cut it out, then drilled a hole in the middle, put a screw through and secured with the mom.
Then I clamped the screw on the drill and ground it to size at full throttle.
Now I have to think about how I can get the rope guide into the roll, do you have any ideas?

First of all, about the rolls......... I found the original rolls.

There they are. I installed the wrong rollers there. EMBARRASSING Well, there's always something.

Quickly replaced and done.
I also worked on the crow's nest and bent 2 Davids to size.

The roller blocks, if I understood correctly, are the ones for the anchors, and I've finished them so far. OK, the paint is still missing.

I like that better. I removed the screw again and the first coat of paint is on it too. And this is how I will continue!
I'll first put all the structures together and paint them, then I'll attach everything and then the railing will come on.
That's my plan (without guarantee)

I also glued the chimney together, now it still needs to be filled and sanded. I loosely put the parts in their places. Fits.

While the putty was drying, I started cutting out the next pieces.

I'm slowly getting practice at it.

I also finished, glued, filled and sanded the chimney.

Then I made a companionway house and 2 fans to size and glued them together. They then also have to be filled and sanded.
