Can you wipe them with a Lager or Belgian Ale? How about a wheat beer?

The most important thing I learned about my cutting mats, is don't wipe them with acetone or IPA, as it make the lines go away!
Oh...I don't wipe mine at all, it is under glass protection. Once it gained the dust I blow it with my whatchmakers syringe. Thanks for the tip, Kurt. I am on the safe side...

IPA = Isopropyl Alcohol.
My green mat has grey markings... maybe that's just because it's dirty...The 'Mat' guru, said they should be white for the most success, with other colors you may not achieve the same cutting results, but... if you have already done some research, you may have already noticed: there are no other colors, for stripes, other than white, on the Green mats out there.

Now that is a nice matted clean workbench!I got a lot of green cutting mats. 17 in total plus 2 spare in my drawer. They got yellow inkt on the tops not White.

Just consider how far this discussion on cutting mats has gone on is a good point to how crazy we all are about our hobbies, and tools.
yeah there is even a term for that. It's called obfuscation. lolMurphy's "Rules of Engineering" state that "All measurements and dimensions shall be given in the MOST obscure terms possible. as in: 'Furlongs per Fortnight..."

it doesn't attract dust, also I am afraid I can cut the matt if used directly without protection. They are expensive, though.
