I like how you are striving to organize your workshop, Tobi. I am curious, are there any practical reasons other than organizations to keep the wood strips in the drawers?

Hi Jimy, well, at first I had everything in a big drawer, over time it's getting more and more and I'm tired of searching, now every compartment is labeled and sorted by size and type of wood. It makes everything much easier and you have a perfect overview of where what is and, above all, when something is running out and has to be reordered.
So no unnecessary stoppage of construction, usually when it is running
. There is also a shelf on the wall where the Essex finds its place and a French cleat on the wall, a drawer only for plans and and and

Tobias, you may have just inspired me to clean up and organize my place. I've been meaning to do it for over 2 years now. I've attempted to do so many times. The furthest I've gotten is to walk in, look at the cabinets and drawers for about 3 mins and walk out. I think though I'm going to do it this time. Mostly get rid of things I just don't use would be a win for me.

Hello everyone, a few more pictures of the modifications in the workshop. The plate for the shipyard is not quite finished yet, I am still waiting for the aluminium profiles. Now the construction of La Palme can be continued, see you in the days friends and thanks for stopping by.

As promised work has resumed on La Palm and I hope to get the bolts done in the next 14 days I only have 16 frames left.
Enjoy your new workshop - and we will enjoy the photos and reports in your log......
It's almost done, 8 frames are still ahead of me. Of these, 5 frames still have to be drilled. So I could be finished by the weekend.
I admire your perseverance Tobias,bolting the frames and cutting all the mortices was one step too far for me on Saint Philippe

Hello everyone, all frames are ready. Now all I have to do is black out all the bolts and then they can be set up clean, but it takes a good shipyard to do that. I decided to redo the build plate.
There were several reasons why I had to do this.
1. My first construction was made out of old panels, which isn't too bad on the whole. But it arched very slightly. The top plate was new (multiplex beech) so very stable and it will be recycled.
2. Only 6 threaded rods M6 a bit too small for my taste.
3. Most importantly, the center line from bow to stern from the bottom plate to the top plate was offset and so I had a 3mm warp. So now to the new shipyard: Substructure is a 15mm multiplex board 1250x850 mm with aluminum C-slot profiles. The whole thing was placed on an aluminum profile frame that has 20x20 mm and 8 M8 bolts.
The ulterior motive that led me to build this shipyard in this size is very simple. It must fit for other ships 1:36. New pictures will be available soon when all frames are in place.
