Le Rochefort 1:36 build by Tony P

Hello Tony, I'm going to try to make an angle vise myself tomorrow, I'm going to try with an old proxxon vise, if I have what looks like it I'll post the pictures,

Ok great, Ill be interested in how you do it.
Hi Splinter, please do share your results. I’m interested in what you come up with. Thanks
Ok. Here's the result of an afternoon of tinkering. It's definitely not pretty, but it works. it was also about the idea. Materials used old piece of concrete plywood a hinge and a proxxon Visé a piece of threaded rod nut and a wing nut. By inserting the threaded rod through the holes and tightening, the sides clamp the vise optimally, making a good adjustment easy to do. like i said this is a try, not too difficult to make. I'll tinker a bit further, because beautiful is something else;)

Right ! I was thinking of something with a hinge too. Actually is we know the angle in degrees we can cut a block of wood to put in the vise too. We’re only milling wood no forces are really applied to it.

Working on the frames still. I’m at the point now that I’ll give them partial contours and I still have to either cut the tenons or use rod tenons in the rising frame bottoms. I see the rising frames will take a lot of work to set in place and contour correctly.

I preshaped, sanded the frames. Test fit is ok. I’m curious when the actual fairing of the outside of the frames should be done. After they’re all assembled in the jig I assume. I still have to take down the bow frames, the angle is severe and I’m anxious hoping I get it right.
