Thanks for the images which are similar to others available in the internet and in the kit instructions.
My question was more directed to how and where is the boom spar attached to the ship.
It should be (at least that would make sense to me) to the prop that has nr 247 in the images you share. The problem is that even those images suggest that the spar is not attached, but rather just supported on top of that prop.

Part of deck equiment is finally glue and nailed.

Also the showcase is progressing. Still a lot of finishing to do. A bit worried that the frame may be too fragile for the glass.

Hello,
Today I concluded the the dinghy of my Xebec.
I added a sail, since it was not included in the kit. Don't know if that is correct (meaning - did they have the dinghy completely ready to go in the water, or kept the sail stored somewhere else?), but it served to try out a few things such as sewing and how to finish the sail cloth.
I did not like the option from Amati to supply a diecast dinghy. I would have preferred a wooden small boat to be built, like in Occre' kit. Still I tried to make the best out of it. Besides the sail, I decided to adopt a few modifications to the decoration scheme on Amati's instructions.
Not all come out to my liking, but overall I'm happy.
The next challenge will be making wooden gun carriages to substitute the diecast ones supplied.
I leave you with a few pictures.

Dear Grant,
Thanks for the compliments, but all those items were already included in Amati kit. The only thing added was the sail. The decoration was also changed from brown/wood color to a paint scheme similar to the ship: blue strip on the stern, white bottom and white/red oars, instead of wood/brown.
The dinghy is not yet glued to the ship, and I intent to add the rope and blocks that would secure it in place (not included in the kit). That will have to be done at a latter stage, after installing the cannons and definitely install the two stand pods that will hold the model in the showcase (which, by the way, is finished, although currently occupied by a bottle...and waiting for the result of a serious negotiation with my wife about where to put it....).

After some effort I manage to built 14 gun carriages that do not embarace me much...to substitute those supplied by Amati.
They're not finished yet. wheel's axels still need trimming, and I plan to build wedges to adjust the gun vertical angle and rings to attach the rigging, which are not included in Amati's model.
Carriages will be painted red. Wheels will keep the wood color.
As for the guns, I will use those diecast supplied by Amati, after filing the imperfections resulting from the mold.
These guns have a brownish finish that I dislike and that become spoiled by the filing.
What do you recommend to finish the gun barrels?
To paint them?
What colour?
Bronze or steel?
Currently I am thinking painting them with LP-19 Gun Metal, from Tamiya.
Do you have a better suggestion?
I leave you with some pictures of gun carriage making and the final result.

I bought the model from Amati and have only the paper plans that come in the box. No PDF.
Amati sells the plans separately.
You may also search OCCRE website. They have a similar model: Jabeque Cazador. They allow free download of pdf plans.

I'm new to this Forum and to wooden ship modeling. I once (many years ago) built cars and ships plastic kits, in between which the Passat tall ship from Heller.
Now I decided to turn to modeling and to try wood kits.
It happens that my firs kit is this Xebec from Amati.
That is how I came across this Forum, which is very, very intersting for me, and a source of knowledge.
A very nice built.
This Amati kit is not without flaws. Some of them hard to solve. At least by a new comer such as me.
I attach a few photos of my built as it is now. Still far away from completion.

A few more pictures from my build.
Everything takes a lot of time to do (fortunately! This is a hobby...). A lot of dry fitting!...
Gun carriages are almost finished. Still have to drill 3 holes in each to insert the rings that will hold the rigging. The hinges metal parts are also still missing, that is why the guns are secured to the carriages with a piece of sewing thread
Breech cables are already done, but nothing is glue to the ship and look untidy.

Hello Guys,
I finally got my cannons installed.
Also finished carving the oars.
I reckon not all went the way I would like it to be. A few mistakes were noted and some options discarded for future builds, but, overall, for a first build I think it is not that bad.
Next steps are:

• Painting the oars white/red;
• Decide to hang the oars outside the ship, as instructed in Amati's kit instructions, or leave them stored on the deck to each side of the mizzen mast, as in the Occre model.
• Start the masts.
