Description
56ft Wooden Torpedo Boat, hull number WTB12, built by JS White, Cowes in 1888 for the Royal Navy. Representative of a series of wooden torpedo boats (12 units). Torpedo boats of this type were intended to arm the battleships and cruisers of the British fleet and were the standard picket boat of the fleet until 1906.
J. Samuel White wood TBs
The first nine were ordered in 1883, another two in 1887, and the last on 1888. Unlike the Thornycroft and Yarrow boats, they were wooden-hulled and were precursors of the 56ft steam pinnaces which superseded the Second Class steel boats (in a multi-role function).

Technical data
Kit content
The kit was shipped directly from Russia, so there was a small customs fee.
All parts of the kit are stored safely and tidily in the box.
The wood package
Let's look deeper at this kit and start with the perfectly lasered MDF for the building Jig.
The Pearwood Sheets
Super fine lasered, much better then other modern european manufacturers
So is the rest
And the last wood sheet with the pre spilled planking. It's not pear but will be painted anyway
Photo Etch & other Parts. The PE Parts are 2 layered and with very good details. It would have been nice to get these a bit more clean but Aceton will do the job I guess. There is a lot of metalwork on this boat. Will be fun.
More Accessories. Well packed in a separate box more goodies are to discover.
