HMS ALERT 1777 cutter POF by shota70 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Hello dear friends
I am slowly moving forward in the process, when this time I created The tops of some of the frames bollard type of head.
I'm using a Fine manual wood sanding - the first round and the second straight/rectangular. as well as in different density sandpapers

In addition, I made channels in the heads of three frames in the stern area, into which I will insert the upper and narrow railing.
It was a pleasant and fruitful weekend, I wish it to all of you my friends :)

good evening dear friends
Today I finished making the first part of the upper deck.
My plan is to install only two fifths of the deck (the first - adjacent to the side of the ship and on which the guns stand, the second - the center of the deck where the openings and lattice to the lower deck are located). To allow the observer to see the parts of the lower deck.

this is the main work steps:

1. Preparing the boards according to the plan of the deck.

2. Pasting line by line.

3. Sanding the boards - sanding discs with a density of 80 to 400. And finally with steel wool.

4. Marking the pegs with a soldering iron head stand with a hole (diameter 0.6 mm)

5. I applied oil to the deck. and then color corrections on the side of the ship.

I will let you get an impression of the process and the results, I wish you a pleasant weekend

good evening dear friends
Before I continue with the creation of the upper deck, I started the work on all the parts that are spread out in the center of the ship (from the bow to the stern - such as: the openings for the lower deck, trellis and winch). Today I started working on the winch so I can build the deck around it and on the small winch behind the main mast.
The bitt is shaped from two cherry strips glued together. The top you need to shape yourself. A round file and the sanding disk will do the job. burnishing the pewter parts and coloring the bitt parts.
I work on the winches at the same time to get the best use of time, when parts are waiting to dry, I work on the other parts.
I'm attaching photos of the process including the locations of the various parts in the kit to make it easier for those coming in line

I wish you all a good and blessed week :)

Good morning Shota. I love the winch parts and the re colour you got. I had to play a little catch up as I’ve been idle and enjoying the little bit of sunshine in Cape Town winter. Awesome work. Cheers Grant
