1669 Soleil Royal - ZHL [COMPLETED BUILD]

You have hanks (rope loops) and everything! Good job, Gilbert! Which lines did you have to redo to accommodate the jib sails? Did you have to reroute them? How did you do it? Your wales turned out so much better and cleaner than mine.

Thanks Vic
Let me get back to you regarding the jib sails

Hello all
After quite a significant delay due to other priorities and travel, I have finally completed the fore mast.
Below some pictures of the current state.
Now, on to the main mast :)

It looks great: I have my doubt about the Spritsail, but the sails are well done as well as the rest

Beautiful pictures, el Capi.

Hi Vic
In order to accommodate the 2 jib sails I had to change the ropes from the end of the bowsprit yards
See highlighted in red below.
I have attached them to belaying pins on the front rail

Hope this helps

I have no idea how to attach jib and stay sails to the stays. They can’t go up and down with all the pendants and attachments. I’m thinking about running a second line just underneath the stays that the sails are attached to. I guess I need to do more research here.

MORNING FROM SPAIN. Do you have a good picture of your Standing Riggen from the Bowsprit to the Foremast, so I can get a better understanding of your build.
Anyhow -for the last time I will add some pic or drawings. Below the Topmast Stay, you should have the Fore Topmast Preventer Stay -it is here you should add a staysail-. as well you should have the Fore stay and just below the preventer stay-for staysail and finally the main stat.
the staysail is general fasten with a metal ring- with an opening -to go through the edge of the sail and over the preventer stay, and then closed. in the 1st pic, there is a small mistake. the preventer is always below1472-bowsprit- running rig (14).jpg1470-bowsprit- running rig (7).jpg1472-bowsprit- running rig (14).jpg1470-bowsprit- running rig (7).jpg the stay-not opposite
