I would like to present my new Plan created for the "Ships of Pavel Nikitin" project. As part of this project, a kit will be released that complements the existing Drakkar kit in the same scale. I have chosen a Winchelsea Nef , which was a part of the Cinque Ports Confederation. In medieval England, this confederation was a significant military and economic power.

The seal of the town of Winchelsea served as the basis for my work. Since information about this type of ship is rather scarce, I relied on the works of Werner Zimmermann, von Fircks, and Werner Dammann during the blueprint development, although the latter specialized more in Viking shipbuilding. My Rekonstruktion does not claim absolute historical accuracy, but I have endeavored to capture the spirit of that era. The blueprint consists of 4x DIN A2 sheets.

Interesting project for a kit -
I can imagine, that this will be a very representative and special ship model based on a kit by Pavel Nikitin

I put together some years ago a "study" in a similar matter. However, it is not a scientific work, I hope some of you find it interesting. As eugen.t writes it is unfortunately a neglected area and to me, it is hard to understand why-I am not a scholar, but for me, it was a particularly exciting activity. Unfortunately, the PDF file is too large (44MB to upload here, but from the following link you can download free: https://www.academia.edu/43366876/SHIPS_AFTER_SEAL_PRINTS

Hello everyone! I want to share some news: Pavel Nikitin has started the reconstruction of the Nef from Winchelsea in 3D graphics for a future model in 1:32 scale. As mentioned earlier, this kit will be released as an addition to the existing Drakkar kit424579761_1002849354734174_1284081340463847200_n.jpg424888866_1002849408067502_2263621804675587020_n.jpg424937329_1002849588067484_6364249371977221171_n.jpg424591786_1002849708067472_3416611957908122827_n.jpg424749135_1002849798067463_3046421879004220950_n.jpg424580052_1002849804734129_1133912859635293361_n.jpg424620337_1002849414734168_444768345341884087_n.jpg424661462_1002849381400838_1887785967497171206_n.jpgit
