This Tamiya kit builds up to a 30" long ship model at 1/350 scale. This YAMATO has a huge amount of detail included so it's pricey compared to it's sister model which is listed next. The box is 30" x 10 1/2" x 6" and weighs 6 lbs 2 oz. price is $385 plus shipping from 34135 in Florida. I just double checked the model and I'll have to take some more pictures of it. There's more in the box than I remembered. I'll get back to this ad tomorrow.
Ok, today is the tomorrow I talked about yesterday and here are the rest of the pictures of this kit. It's huge, bigger than I thought it was.
Top to botton:
Picture of the ship box.
Bottom layer of 11 large bags and 9 smaller bags of parts.
Top layer of larger parts. Hull can be made as a water line model or with a full hull.
On top of the large parts are the instruction booklet, Painting instructions in color and the info on assembly of the aircraft that are on this ship.
Top layer are the photo etched parts in aluminum I think. 3 sheets.
Last is a photo, not too clear, of the gun turret assembly's that look pretty interesting. They rotate and the guns go up and down.
I think this model could be motorized and RC'd if you had a mind to do that. You could probably activate the gun turrets too depending on how clever you are. This is a very premium kit if there ever was one. You won't put all this together in a weekend no matter how cold and snowy it is outside. Ha! Pete.
