Santiago De Compostela 1540 [COMPLETED BUILD]

Poop Deck

I made a pattern for the deck offsite and added the deck beams. Installing the deck was easier than building it in place, building the railing took more time than the deck.

Mike, looks amazing how you make every piece / section fit on place from scratch. I love this built. Your pictures shows how to made the parts. There isn't any need of extra explanation.

Daniel

Hi Daniel, I like to make all the parts using common woodworking tools. It is not as accurate as the CNC or laser cut parts but is more of a hands-on experience.

Hi Stevinne, this is the drawing I am using, and I did not see a gangway running from the quarter deck to the middle door of the forecastle. There may have been one that is not shown in the drawing. I do not think the drawing was as built, but more conceptual.

Hi MavRick, the photos help me find problems and places that need adjustments that are overlooked when looking at the model. They help with the overall design of the model.

Poop Deck continuation.

I added a pair of ladders from the quarter deck to the poop deck and mid rails to the fore and aft castles. There is still more railing to be added.

I took this photo of the finished model and forgot to post it. This project was a lot of fun, and she looks like a Spanish galleon, so I guess it was successful LOL.

Thanks for dropping by with your likes and comments.
