I wonder if you found background information on the Carraca Atlantica or Sao Miguel. This is indeed the only representation of a carrack with SIDE galleries I know of. So I wonder where the information came from. Maybe from a naval museum in Portugal?
By the way, I lately got rid of a very old Heller plastic kit of the same model. In fact, it was almost completely based on their Santa Maria kit, and has disappeared from their catalog probably some 40 years ago. As the choosen colours were the same as the Mamoli kit, I suspect Heller took their inspiration from Mamoli.
One last point. I once bought and and built a Mamoli kit of their Dutch Yacht. The model had remained for years on the shelves of that shop, and, apart from the usual problems with these kits, I had to replace ALL the wood for the second planking. It was completely useless, as it broke even without bending it. So if your model is an old one, you had better check the quality of its wood
Good luck with your build, and don't hesitate to show your progress!
