Hi all,

I am a beginner here so I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, if not pls. feel free to move it.

I am researching on a ship called "Santisima Trinidad". This is not the first rate but a Manila galleon built in 1751.

My question is how must she have looked like?

One website I saw describes this image (https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRLtI7JjQUNdo1mUoI5vyqIp8zDa-ZqLp5Osw&usqp=CAU) as being the plans for the ship.

To me the ship looked more like what I know of a fourth rate than what I know of a Spanish galleon.

But I'm inclined to believe the image, for another Manila galleon built in the same century, Nuestra Señora del Pilar, looked like that: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTfNwNIGeoits4aLS5-7Ulil_t5Z-VmIZOkCg&usqp=CAU

Should it look like that, or be of the more conventional "Spanish galleon" look with the "raised stern"? https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSeYj6pILnrypN4VailT6UuTJpBOzh3CzZLQA&usqp=CAU

Would be interested to hear from you. Thanks!

Ciao a tutti,

Sarei interessato a sentirti. Grazie!

Good evening Lonious.
The question is a bit tricky.
The "Galeón de Manila" was not a ship but the name of a maritime route.
Of course when the route started in 1565 the ships used were for sure galleons but, this route, the longest in time in history, ended in 1815 so the latests ships were "ships of the line" like the "Nuestra Señora del Pilar" kit of Occre.
Along this almost 300 years, hundreds of ships sailed from Acapulco (Mexico) to Manila (The Philipines) and back crossing the Pacific Ocean in a 5 month trip.
Greetings
Jaime
