Misticque French xebec 1750 Corel kit SM21
The model is base on the (Musé de la Marine Paris France)
And reproduce a mid 18th century Mediterranean 18 guns that was use as counter pirate fighting ship and escort for merchant ship
The rigging is what is call Polish-style xebec a modification of the lateen version a 3 mast and square sails.
According to historic document that particular rigging give that type of ship an advantage in speed and manoeuvrability against the pirate with lateen sails.
Ok the kit
I think I got that kit in 2005 start it in 2007 and finish in 2017
I was working on it for a short period of time put it aside, work on it again put it aside and so on.
The box is well packaged
8 sheets of instruction both side that look to be easy to follow
The wood came individually in pack by size and color (some type of plank are pre tinted)
Because it was the type of project in and out I did not take time to properly documented the build with the necessary photo

August 2017
A bit of personal information
Was supposing to take my retirement end of September 2017 and it did not happen but that is another story.
September is the time where my company do the charity thing so again they ask me to give something.
My problem was that at that time I was training my replacement and doing a turn to train colleague around the country and did not have anything at the time ready.
So I took out the Misticque that was almost complete and kind of rush to finish it
First thing I did was place an rush order for the casing
Then complete the sail installation.
The 15 September was the last day to give anything
Receive the casing on the 12 that my son have to pick up as I was out of town
Came back only the 13 the ship was almost finish but I have still sail to complete and fix.
Barely finish it on the 14
Next day morning put the finish ship in the casing and take it to the office
And did not take any picture NOT ONE of the finish ship
So you have 3 pictures of the ship sail not rig and not completely fix and finish
But I put the method I use to finish them (Hubert Sicard method) glue and a brush, it is possible to make the wrinkle vanish and the sail look good.
