METABO DH 330

That's a nice-looking bit of kit. How is it for snipe? I have a 12-inch Delta planer to which I've added my own in- and out-feed beds, but I still get some pretty wicked snipe.

@Namabiiru , I'm not quite sure what you mean. sniper, if you mean scraper, tracks in the material after it has passed through the machine,
then I would think that you have damage to the knife blades in your machine.
My machine works perfectly, with input and output and creating new knife blades, but it makes noise like pure hell.
Greetings Knut-

Hi, Knut. Snipe refers to the slightly deeper cuts planers take on the ends of the board as pressure from the feed rollers changes slightly.

And you are right about the noise. I always have on hearing protection when I have tools running in the shop.

You are absolutely right, there will be a bit of snipe at the ends but not very much, in any case these materials will be adjusted more with other machines as the need arises, regards Knut-

To help eliminate snipe, lift up on the opposite end of the stock that is entering or exiting the planer.
