Lobster boat in a bottle

I found the plans for building a lobster boat in a bottle in Wood Crafter magazine

I started by cutting out the hull. I then cut it lengthwise, then drilling holes for the dowel pegs.

I then glued on walnut veneer. I had a picture of a model that I used as a guide. Notice the mast in the picture. This was used to hold the boat steady.

I had a picture from Cape Porpoise in Maine that I used as a backdrop in the bottle. I cut it so the reflection in the water was on the bottom and cut a hole in the shape of the boat

I had added a few trim pieces and test fitted the boat.

Adding the top part of the cabin. Making the other parts that I will use. Notice the split in the roof so I can fit it in the bottle. The ship is HO scale so that I could use lobster traps, buoys, and lobsters that is available as one kit.

As I made each part it was test fitted and checked with the bottle opening and overall size for fitting.
