Hi Everyone
This is a ship I have admired for a long time but have been put off by reviews of the Company and quality of parts on some forum and fb pages.
So inbetween I've been looking at videos and build logs to make my own assessment, then when I found an offer I couldn't let go I made my purchase at half the price this kit normally retails for here in the UK, especially when it is Brand New and sealed.
This is a Single plank on bulkhead kit.
The Quality of the parts look to be very good. 15 sheets of wood & 4 bundles of wood for planking, masts, etc... there is also a stand to build for the ship which is quite presentable.
There are 2 plastic boxes filled with Blocks, Deadeyes, gratings, cannon balls, Cannons s, Nameplate, Black mesh, Figurehead and decorations etc..
Also there are a very nice set of pre sewn sails, a photo etch sheet for the stern and strangely the crowsnests/fighting tops, not sure if I will use those as I may just improvise with wood, the Flag is of course wrong for the period so I will also alter this with an aftermarket cloth ones.
The rigging thread is probably the only let down in the kit 5 rolls of black for the standard rigging and only 2 for the running rigging. That said I usually replace all the threads in the kits I buy with either Amati or Caldercraft.
There is a checklist and template for the gunports. The instructions are on dvd but I have already downloaded these prior to buying this kit as I wanted to makes sure they were workable first and of course they very much are. On a plus side there is a very large A1 sheet photo of the ship on a 1/1 scale and on the reverse a topside, sideon and stern views of the ship which makes up for no paper plans so you can measure up to this as well as a guide if you need too.
All in all there is a lot of very good quality here for the price I paid.
Length : 750mm
Height : 591mm
Width : 284mm
Now too the photos.
