I was thinking of creating a keel block display for my Revell 1:96 USS Constitution. Something like this:

My original thought was to create some sort of slot down the centerline of the blocks for the keel to fit into. Then I'd add some diagonal side braces, similar to how a drydock would support the hull from rolling over using the same block style/material.

I started looking around the interwebs for some examples of model display bases like what I had in mind and wasn't able to find any for tall ships.
I looks like this sort of display is mainly used for flat-bottom modern ships.
Has anyone ever seen a tall ship mounted on a keel block display? Is there a reason it's not done?
