HMS Surprise by Mamoli

Looking good - only the tackles of the carronade are technically not correct installed (I think)
Before you go further, maybe you have time to check it once more

your both tackles are fixed to ringbolts only on the top part of the carriage (which is able to go forwards and for loading backwards) - here you need only one tackle (blue lines)
The red lines are showing the tackles for changing the angle (green arrows) of the complete carronade, these tackles have to be connected on the bottom part of the carriage

This is a fantastic-looking build! My apologies for coming late to the discussion, but I recommend one slight change to your carronades. The wooden slides of a working carronade would have been very heavily greased. The contemporary photos are of non-functional carronades and have been painted instead of greased.
Here's a photo of a functioning carronade that actually gets fired, and you can see the grease on the top of the lower slide. Unfortunately, the photo doesn't show the greasy sheen very well

You might consider some combination of flat black and semi-gloss black on the top of your lower slide.

Either way, your carronades look great!

Almost finished with the 18' cutter mini-kit. The detail is excellent just like the longboat.
Now I'm not so sure I'm going to stack the boats like I had intended. Sure it would be more historically accurate to have more than one boat, but if I did I'd be covering up 80% of the detailing of the longboat. I'm gonna noodle this out some more before I decide which way to go.

Bowsprit and jib mounted and some rigging pre-attached.

Bow timbers installed and figurehead mounted.

Outboard stairs and railing installed.

Longboat mounted and tied down. I decided not to install the cutter in top of the longboat. I like being able to see the details including that itty bitty tiny anchor.

Good morning. Lovely work. The detail is excellent. I love the planking finish on your long boat. Definitely some skill to finish it off like you did. Cheers Grant

Thank you Grant. These little boat mini-kit are fantastic!

Not only are the photos amazing. As always I love the detail shown. And, the descriptive and "how to" text exchanges are fascinating also!

Both port and starboard upper rails finished and outboard pin racks completed. I'm finding I need much more patience when working with these tiny pieces of walnut. They split so easily I've lost count of pieces I've just tossed into the bin. Drilling out holes is the worst, I've slowed my drilling way way down and that's why it took me the better part of today just to finish one side's upper rail plus the pin racks.

I also put together one of the Caldercraft carronade kits I purchased, these will go on the forecastle as bow chasers. The detail is really fantastic. The elevation screw is an actual screw that screws right up into the end of the carronade.

I love the detail! :)

The plans don't show a mast coat for the portion of the mainmast that shows on the gun deck, but it seems something needs to trim it up. Only three hardwood mast coats were included in the kit so I scratched one up.

Gun deck bitts.

Pin racks for the mizzen mast along the rail, some belaying cleats, a skylight, and some hatches on the upper poop deck. I cannot for the life of me figure out what these hatches are for. Perhaps the area beneath the hatches are some sort of storage? There aren't any doors leading to the quarterdeck from this area, only the hatches.

Working on the ship's wheel.

Some of the photos I like best where you feel like you are getting a peak into the past. The detail, as always can do that for me!

Wow! I've missed a lot ... life has been pretty upside down lately. Thanks for sending me the link, but I first had to go back and review much of what I've missed. I love the view with name visible!
Sorry @TKAM to highjack your log for the birthday wishes
