Building a wooden tall ship is on my bucket list and as I near retirement, I'm looking for a hobby that I can share with my wife. As a youngster, I built plastic models (mainly cars and aircraft) and balsa wood planes. We're both very handy and adept with tools (having remodeled all of the prior houses we've lived in and built the one where we currently live). We're also good at design, as we designed all of the remodels and our current home.
We're currently studying the role privateering played during the Revolutionary War and have selected the Rattlesnake as our project. Not sure exactly when we'll start on it as we're still looking at kits and will need to purchase new tools of the hobby, but will start a build log when we do get started.
