H.M.B. ENDEAVOUR - 1/54 - OCCRE [COMPLETED BUILD]

Good morning Rob. Happy new your to you. I hope you are back on the road to recovery and feeling good. Very realistic looking sails - nice! It looks like your Endeavour has turned into a washing line with all the clamps on. ROTF . Cheers Grant
Hi Grant

Thank you very much, yes health wise I am getting there, the only set back is I have had to give up my job which had been detrimental to my heath over the last year and a half due to poor/atrocious working conditions.
Ha ha yes I guess it could be slightly mistaken for a washing line lol just as well there are no knickers on it . Yeah but in all honesty it's method I've used before to simply keep the sail rigging untangled before I am ready to rig them up.

Wishing you all the best of Health mate
Cheers
Robert.

I'm building the Occre Endeavour at this time and have not got to the masts or rigging yet but am looking forward to that. Your work is very good and your detailed photos should help me as I progress. This is my second ship (the first being the Golden Hind) so it's a challenge! I look forward to seeing your finished ship with sails as I cannot make up my mind whether to finish mine with standing rigging.

Cheers
Jim

OcCre Endeavour 1/54 scale : Small update.

As all the construction work is done it's just more of the same just now...

Measuring, cutting, hand sewing and reef pointing my homemade sails. 313 reef points for 3 sails, with more to come.
A small glimmer of sunlight upon the horizon....

Staysafe and Happy modelling everyone ⚓⚓

Good morning Rob. Excellent work. I admire guys who do sails. Something I have run very far away from to date. Your ship should be temporarily renamed "Peg City".... Cheers Grant

excellent work on the sails - one of my strong points -although as i have a superwoman sawing machine, she is normal doing it. she can even makes double parallel lines.

Hi Grant

Thanks! Or it could be renamed HMS PEG-ASUS

Nice one.

My better half has offered to do mine as she learned as a machinist when she was younger, but I think doing it by hand gives it that slightly more rougher authentic look rather than a super fine finish, just my opinion mind you.
There are other ships I think you can get away with not putting sails on them, but the Endeavour I think needs sails to properly set her off.

you are the captain on your ship. just info. I made my first sailing ship -Norske love- in 1973 and have built more than 30 models including Endeavor, which I got to my 50 years birthday. just 30 years ago

Small update on my 1/54 Scale "ENDEAVOUR" build.
Still sewing up my hand made sails when time allows, but have rigged up the Spritsail/Bowsprit sail & Topsail along with the Foremast course sail to see how she looks.
Still a long way to go but definitely light on the horizon now.

After 13 months work on my Endeavour, she is finally FINISHED!
It's been a great kit & build.
I have improvised in a few things like my
17 Hand sewn sails, 550 Reefpoints/gaskets
55 rope hanks, 50 belaying pins, 40 chainplates , Rigging instructions conforming with the AOS ENDEAVOUR book etc... now after 1100 clove hitches, 164 Deadeyes, 250+ Rigging Blocks, 12 Heart blocks & god knows how many miles of thread, she is now ready to set sail.

Thanks again to OCCRE for supplying me with a few pieces that were short within the kit.

Wishing Everyone all the best in this great hobby of ours, and keep building those works of art.
I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed building her.

well done Mate. it looks much better than my build 30 years ago. The only thing that I am not that happy with is the edges of the sail- no critics
