Hello,
A low cost model to build, this small vessel is based on the “Adirondack guide boat".
This is a modern version (strip planking) of a watercraft developed through the 19th century.

For this model, the strips were cut from leftover boards using a friend’s bandsaw.
Built from cherry and using only basic hand tools for the construction. No need for a workshop, this one is being built on the kitchen table: but sanding is done outside.
Scale, about 1:13th. The finished hull is 14.5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide.
The design is based on information found online and a little imagination.
This may motivate some to take on small projects providing a lot of satisfaction in working with local materials if you chose to do so, as this model can literally built out of any lumber.
The hull planking is as basic as can be.
So far about 50 hours spent on this …
It began with a simple building base, then planking strips were added.

At this point, this is what the model looks like.

Thank you for looking.
