On March 21, 1780, the young Marques de La Fayette embarked on the Hermione, setting sail for America to fight alongside the American insurgents in the struggle for their independence. Two years earlier, at the Rochefort Arsenal, in a building berth close to the Cordeire Royale, work had begun on the Hermione, a light 12-pounder frigate, over 64 meters long weighing in at more than 1200 tons and with a sail surface of over 1500 square meters, spread on the 3 masts. The Hermione was built from plans drawn up by the engineer-shipbuilder Chevilliard l’aine.

Thank you. I used Revell aqua acrylic paints. They have a very high pigment content and give a great finish with just brushing. However they also dilute well for use with an airbrush which I used on the hull initially but during the build there was plenty of touching in with a brush. Being acrylic the colours remain true which is very important when touching in.

Thanks for your answer. Think i need to convert all colors to Tamyia. My local dealer dont sell the revell type.
Instructions is mentioning two types og yellow. Pastell yellow & yellow. I’m not sure if I’m going to match the colors in the instruction sheets or just plain yellow
Is it possible for you to send me the revell color #??? I can then convert them into tamiya colors.

This is the Revell Aqua chart available from Amazon . Perhaps they will ship to Norway
Amazon is not up and running in Norway yet so my plan is to test mix the tamiya colors to match the pictures in the DVD instructions… but I’m still at hull planking at this point so no big decision has been made

It maybe worth e-mailing these people as they are distributors for Revell products in Norway

Hallo @John G
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Birthday-Cake
Are you working actual on a project?

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Yes I have started another project- the Constructo Enterprise Brig. I am going to try double planking the hull on this one . My first project was the Constructo Bounty which I single planked . There was nothing in the instructions about double planking and I was left with all the thin 6 mm strips wondering too late what to do with them. There are some good building logs for the enterprise on line which are very helpful.
