french 64-gunner LE FLEURON in scale 1:48 by Joachim

The fittings for the cannons and the bulwarks are finished. I also made pear tree blocks myself. The first cannon is now rigged on deck.

Absolutly super. It cannot be much better. that said it makes me jealous. With all those professional Tools you have and building on a bigger scale. I never came more than to a few Dremels and my X-knives, apart from that I have not built since 2014 -I started in the 60Th. In like much your Homemade Blocks and other assesory. I was and have always been an Amateur- kein Erste Bundesliga fur mir - but I have made a lot of what you are now doing -only about 20 years earlier.. So mein Freund ein Super model. WELL DONE sagt man in the Marine. War zum besuch in Lubeck, Kiel (Kieler Woche) und naturlich Hamburg mit Reperbahn 1966-67.

Hallo my friend,
your work on the guns and carriages are very very good
but I think you should invest some money to use better rope material for the gun tackles - these guns are worth to use also good ropes

All 6 pounders from the forward castle and thequarter deck are fully rigged and in place. Now I'm tackling the next project, the longboat. It will be a about 21 cm long. Originally it is over 10 meters long. Here I use the method of first making an internal wooden model. That's where the keel, frames and planks come above.

I continue with the planking on the outside: all planks run from bow to stern. The planks are narrower at the ends than in the middle. I get the wood to be flexible by giving it a steam bath in the cooking pot for 20 minutes. Inside I start with the expansion and the interior paneling.
