OcCre 1/54 Endeavour ⚓⚓⚓

After 13 months work on my Endeavour(my first wooden kit), she is finally finished. It's been a great kit & build
I have improvised in a few things like my
17 Hand sewn sails, 550 Reefpoints/gaskets
55 rope hanks, 50 belaying pins, 40 chainplates , Rigging instructions conforming with the AOS ENDEAVOUR book etc... now after 1100 clove hitches, 164 Deadeyes, 250+ Rigging Blocks, 12 Heart blocks & god knows how many miles of thread, she is now ready to set sail.

I like the presentation also very much - Bravo!
Thank you very much Uwek I am glad you like it, I just thought the presentation needed a little bit extra & out of the box thinking ⚓

This is a 'Pretty' ship as old tie sailors would say. Lotsa information in each picture.

Nice work Robert. Like the little additions you have made.

Absolutely love that! You must be rightfully proud of it.
Thank you very much, yes I am it's been a long voyage to get her finished, but worthwhile satisfaction that I have finished her to the best of my abilities.
Everyday modelling is a learning curve but a good one.

Very fine result. How do you get all those furling lines to hang so straight?
Thank you very much, with regards to the furling lines which I assume you mean Reefpoints/gaskets it is a bit of a tedious process, more so than ratlines imho.
However to get these straight, you first cut a length of the appropriate rigging thread about an inch or so more than your finished Reefpoint will look like, then tie a simple knot halfway in the the middle, then thread this through your appropriate reefpoint mark on your sail till the knot stops flat against the sail, the add some glue underneath the knot, makings sure the knot is still flat to the sail, then lay this on the table, with something small but Heavy sit this on top of the Reefpoint making sure it's aligned straight down towards the bottom of the sail, within set in place let your glue dry for a couple minutes, then if your happy, lift the small weight you have used just to check the Reefpoint is staying flat and straight, once this is secure turn the sail back to front and repeat the process with the other end of the Reefpoint, to tie the knot tight against the sail at this end you will probably need to use tweezers, then add glue, the small weight, and the same process as before regards drying time, then trim off any excess Reefpoint thread to your desired length on the sail. Just repeat this process for every Reefpoint on your sail as required.

As I say it can be a long tedious job, more so than ratlines but the finished work is well worthwhile.

Hope this helps
Robert

Spectacular. Your attention to detail is incredible. Nice job.

Jan
Thank you very much Jan. I am enjoying your San Bartolome build, your attention to detail is very good, its a kit I have looked at a few times, I think the only thing that's putting me off is the very heavy shipping costs to the UK something like €150 on top if the kit which I can't justify.
Wishing you all the best Jan
