I was asked to build this kit which came in a subscription form with a magazine in the 80's. About 220 issues with great build information and obviously lots of detail pics. It took about 14 months of daily part time effort. All wood was stained (much prior to fitting). It had the option of the open hull section and I did a combination by building a removeable panel. I only painted the captains quarters and the figure on the prow

Very nice indeed - The rigging is very well done. Also, the furled sails are nicely done. Congratulations.
Thanks. I searched for many weeks to try and get some guidance on how to furl the sails
