I found these clamps interesting - especially these do not need any holes etc.

The only problem could be at the bow where the plank shoul be fixed in a curve - here one of these pins should be somehow movable

I think it is Micro-mark sells two sizes of this style clamp but made of wood.

I have bought both sizes and assembled them but not had a chance to use them yet. Ok

Holes, pins, etc are not an issue with first stage planking where clamps like this would work - they get covered up at the second stage. These clamps would not work at the second stage when the bulwarks are not exposed - unless one did both layers progressively in sync.

I found the best clamps to use when planking over a solid hull or the outer planking of a double planked hull are push pins. They are cheap and plentiful.1671286863141.jpeg

I got a set of these and was disappointed as they did not screw in to the frame very well and just split the wood. They’re in a box somewhere if I haven’t tossed them…

I really hadn't thought about it before now, but filling in with scrap wood between the bulkheads, as recommended by many including Olga in her Ragusian Carrack series of videos, prevents use of any planking clamp that depends on clamping to the bulkhead. I'll really have to consider the pros and cons of such filling before beginning construction.

Hello Uwek,

I like these clamps. They look to be very functional. They also have a very good price.

Went to the website and cannot see how I can have these shipped to UK ( Scotland ) does anyone know where else I can purchase these ?

I have found that model railroad spikes make perfect clamps. You just pull them out after the glue dries. The little hook on spike hold the plank.
