Hi everyone I have been a member for many years but so far I haven't posted a build log
I have built several models from Caldercraft Model Shipways and Trumpeter
So I thought it was time that I contributed
Here is my build of H.M. Pickle
I haven't documented every part but just a few major steps
Comments and criticism are all welcome 20230822_145752.jpg20230712_162431.jpg20230814_170020.jpg20230814_164213.jpg20230813_120602.jpg20230813_115941.jpg20230628_164423.jpg20230804_164220.jpg20230830_152455.jpg20230830_152441.jpg20230725_161436.jpg20230801_143947.jpg

Your planking is looking very good, hull and also deck -> you are on a very good way
Maybe the windlass spindle would need some additional work - maybe you take a look at the Jotika photos of their model

Thanks Uwek coming from you I class that as very good
Yes the Windlass needs some more work
Back to the bench with it
Thanks for your helpful comments

Now the fun part ...the ratings it is now I am glad its not the Victory !!
I just wish I could remember how to do a clove hitch
Good evening. A lovely build of the Pickle ( sounds a tad funny ;) ).Strange thing about clove hitches- I did about 3000 of these when I built my Victory and yet had to consult google a few days ago to remind me how they go for my Anchor buoyROTF. Enjoy your ratlines. Cheers Grant

A suggestion to help on the ratlines. Replace the plane white paper with one that you have drawn lines spaced as you need them to help as guide on spacing and keeping lines in level straight rows.

I use spread sheet (Excel) to make a sheet, by having the program make rows with bottom lines and then adjust the row height to get spacing you need.

It is easy to adjust as size and scale of ships change.

Hallo @maltbyguy
we wish you all the Best and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Birthday-Cake

Good morning from a cold frosty U.K.
I have finished rigging the 3 gaffs
Fore and main look OK to me but should I alter the angle of the Driver Boom it seems a bit too horizontal compared to some pictures I have seen?
As usual comments and criticism are welcome
Andy
