I began to build this ship based on the AMATI plans, but with several modifications introduced by me.
I used chestnut wood to build the hull which has only one layer of planks. The hull is finished and I will now start rigging. For this I will manufacture the blocks and the masts. I will rig my Niña with three masts, according to AMATI's plans.

The work continues with the laying of the masts and the beginning of the rigging.

Thank you for the great photos of your build. A lot of detail to learn from. She is coming along very nicely.

Hello, Rick.
I appreciate your comment.

Continuing with the construction of my Niña. I finished the winch and it will be put in its place.

Good morning.

Continuing work on the Niña. The sails were all scored and cut. Its details, ribs and corners were also designed. From there I went to the sewing machine to sew the simulation of the ribs.

Then all the hems are made. I wish they were a little narrower, but my fingers and eyes no longer allow me a better result. Either way it's satisfying and I'm glad I can still pick up a needle to do some stitches.

Then I put a 1mm rope (I don't know the correct name) all around the sails. It's time consuming work but I think it gives more realism.

The sails are ready to be placed on the lintels of the masts, which are also already ready.
