Amerigo Vespucci - 1:84 Panart

Hello all
I am starting today a new project: 1:84 Amerigo Vespucci from Panart.
I have been looking at various kits of the Amerigo Vespucci (Mantua, Panart, Occre, Mamoli, Heller) and finally decided to go for the high-end model from Mantua/Panart.
It is indeed more expensive than the other models (I paid 711 euros) but considering the time that will be required to build this ship and the quality of this model, I am happy with my decision.
The first step is to go through all the elements of the box.
Considering that the ship can be sold either in 1 large box or in 8 different smaller boxes, the documentation is divided into 8 booklets, 1 per box. So far, those booklets look very comprehensive.
Below pictures of the various components included in the box.

Hello all
I have started work on the Amerigo Vespucci.
First of all I have to say that the material and documents provided by Mantua/Panart are excellent quality. The booklets are very comprehensive with many pictures and descriptions in multiple languages (Italian, English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish).
Below some pictures of the skeleton build process.

Now ready for the first layer planking ...

Hello Gilbert
The explanations are well done, but check the consistency of the steps between the sheets of the plans and the documentation with the photos:
I work on the San Felipe de Panart and I see a lot of errors.

Good morning Gilbert. Man I am jealous. This is such a beautiful ship. Your fairing looks brilliant. When I built my Victory, the frames and hull structure from Mantua were very good. Enjoy. Cheers Grant

Hello all
After a long break in the US visiting my kids I am back home in the South of France and have resumed work on the Amerigo Vespucci.
After having completed the skeleton, I am now starting the hull first planking.
While the glue dries for each plank, I am also progressing on the main deck planking (walnut). The Mantua documentation suggest to start the deck planking in a later stage but I believe that, for the main deck, it's much easier to do this now, before putting the upper decks in place.
