..Afer a long break (30+ years) back into the hobby, and enjoying it a lot.
Cala Esmeralda is a Spanish "paillebot" ("pilot boat"), built in the early 1900's.
The kit description states, falsely, that she was built in Mallorca, but she is clearly a model
of the Santa Eulalia, now a museum ship in Barcelona, built on the Spanish mediterranean coast.
Why Occre does not mentions this is a mystery to me.. maybe it has to do with rights?
Anyway, as the kit is presented in an all-wood finish, while the original ships were white,
I decided to go the middle way.
Finishing the hull and deck furniture (not glued on yet).
Next step: masts & rigging.

What a lovely, clean build (I really like how the deck turned out). Also, a big welcome back to modeling and to SOS!
