Hi Lawrence and Janos,
Thank you both for visiting my build log and for your kind comments.
Lawrence, I must admit I have visited your build log of Bounty for ideas and to clarify some of the things I was unsure of.
I am going to take a break and try to do some modification to my workshop. I am going to build some shelves to try and organize thing some. I hope to be back in the ship yard soon.

Shukran ya Mustafa for visiting my build log ahlan wasahlan and shukran jazira for your kind words. I don't get a chance to practice my Arabic any more. (15 years in Saudi Arabia I only learned a little speaking, but no writing.)
Back from my sabbatical and at the ship yard crackin the whip again. My ship yard is so small I have to go outside to change my mind.
I built a workbench to put some of my tools on and cleaned off my bench to get back to rigging.
I finished the main mast shrouds and built the ladders to go below.
I should have built those ladders and installed them much earlier in the build, but I wasn't sure I was going to include them.

Great inclusion in your workshop. Correction "Shipyard".

Ahoy shipmates,
Back in the ship yard with the mainmast shrouds set the ratlines are next. Tying the ratline is tedious work so I must watch myself from being to impatient. I have allot of experience with clove hitches and can tie them rather quickly.
I was unhappy with the way the ladders and ladder wells turned out and have decided to re-do the ladder wells and make my own ladders. Thanks to our Shipmate canoe21 "Lawrence" I am making a jig cut ladder rails. This sub=project requires a kerf and I am waiting for it in the mail.
While waiting for tools I am making the bilge pumps. This gives me an opportunity to use some of my new cutting

Golly but your new Ship Yard sure does look good, with all of those new tools to work with it looks like you're about ready to tackle any task. Your HMS Bounty is coming along very nicely, and I just love all of that very fine detail that you are adding to your ship. I am also pleased that you found my Bounty build helpful, it's always nice to get another opinion apart from ones build plans, ENJOY.

I have purchased a compression app that seems to be working.
When last I was in the workshop I had just finished the mainmast shrouds and ratlines. I moved on and started the mizenmast shrouds and ratlines.
After finishing up with the mizzenmast I went into the repair mode I re-rigged the steering mechanism as it was in need of change.
I'm still waiting for an adapter for my kerf blade so I can press on with my ladders.

Nice looking build Mike. I built the Caldercraft Bounty a few years ago but sold it to a doctor friend. Wish I had kept it now. Perhaps I'll try the Constructo kit. Anyway, good job and I look forward to seeing it completed.

Ahoy Shipmates,
Time for another installment. On the advise of one of our shipmates I bought a kerf blade for my little saw and built ladders. I had originally planned to by pass this step but instead of covering the holes I put in ladders. How else would the crew go below?
One more to go then I will press on with the rigging.

Hi Mike, Cap'n Bligh's little boat is looking good so far. Something that has been 'bugging' me for a while is the size of the tiller arm, is it supposed to be that thick or is that just the way it turned out ? Scaled up it would be about 24 inches wide.
Just curious though. Really like your steps with railings, unfortunately Cook's dinghy doesn't have the room for them.

You're right when I was on that part I kind of got carried away, and that's the way it turned out. I probably should have repaired that while I was attacking the steering. I'll do better next time. I got my lathe up and running now also. In an effort to save money I bought a 4 jaw chuck from Little machine shop. I had to buy a backing plate so the chuck would fit my lathe and it needed to be machined to fit. Well my first attempt at machining so
I really cocked it up. So back to LMS for another plate and this time I got it right. Progress is slow for me but steady.

Just popped in to check on your build log Mike, and its moving along quickly. I built the Amati Bounty about 20 years ago and its a great subject to build.
