I had three of the Imai Golden Hind and sold one on eBay for $175.00 the second one I still have on my closet and the third I build it and competed with on the IPMS/USA 1999 National Convention and took the 1st Place under Sailing Ships category, after the competition I sold it for a very good price.
Also the ship was published in the Great Scale Modeling 2000.
Here is the actual picture from the magazine.
I replaced all of the plastic ratlines with miniature rope, painted the hull with a mixture of three different oleo pastes and Naptha, and seal it with flat lacquer.
For the flags and pendants I use a few wine bottles lead seals, hand paint them and shaped them.
The sails I silk screened them and hand stitched the borders.
The base is a combination of beechwood and black acrylic.
I have being thinking about building the one in my closet again.
