Help with Identification

Hallo @Dee
first of all a warm welcome here on board of our forum
unfortunately your parents model is not really a ship model, but more a deco-art ship
They are still produced worldwide with some differences
Make a photo reserach via google and you will find other model ships similar to yours

Dee:
You have a stylized model of a carrack. Not a scale model but an attractive decoration in the style of a medieval votive model. It could be fixed up a bit. Carracks were the most advanced vessels of the 15th and 16th centuries in terms of size and ocean going ability. Vespucci, Columbus, and Magellan sailed carracks. The first picture is a votive model from Catalan dated 1425. The second is a more realistic rendering. Enjoy your ship!

Thanks kindly for the replies! Did try the google lens but the results were so varied. Love the insight though and to know a little bit more about it. Cheers!
