I noticed several postings and interest about the KOTTO third hand in Canoe21's Oliver Comwell log (and in DonRobinson's Lady Nelson log). I wanted to post a small hint but on the otherhand I didn't want to hijack Lawrence's thread so I'm posting this thread instead - just in case others have a similar relationship to money as me and Ebenezer Scrooge.
You can make a 4 arm device yourself for aprox 5$ with better dexterity than many commercial products. You can add extra arms for aprox 1$ per arm. You need:
some sort of base plate
4 x sparkfun Flexible Coolant Pipe 12 x 1/2" (6 pcs. / aprox 4$ on ebay)
4x Alligator Clip
4x 1" 6-32 Phillips Pan Head Machine Screws
4x 50 x 4mm Heat Shrink Wraps
