Another Fantasy ship created for the "Hobbies weekly" market during the 30's 40's 50's & 60's.

A quote from the front page of this issue...

"In this our 7inch model of "The King's ship" two notable features are apparent.
One is the fully decorated main sail, which makes it a very colourful model indeed, the other is the Summer Castle on the stern of the ship. The Summer Castle - a boxed shaped cabin, infact rested quite uncomfortably above the rounded Hull, and the intervening spaces were filled in with planking, which in no way formed part of the skin of the Hull proper.
This Construction we learn , survived for centuries in the "flutes" of Holland and the "Cats" of the Baltic.

I can definitely see a young man or an "old salty" with a sharp knife, a file, some sandpaper, perhaps a jewelers saw, and a hand twist drill going to work on the build. With enough time and energy and an attention to detail he probably created a model that inspired him to build bigger and better ones. I love those old kits and what they inspired you to build.
