Hello, I decided to start kit #2 in the Model Shipways Shipwright series. Nice kit! Instructions are clear, laser cutting clean. Nicely put together.
Built the bow and stern transoms. Starting to bend the wood. I like the building jig, but snapped off part of the basswood. Found that CA doesn’t work very well on basswood. Even tried thick CA. Went back to Titebond.

Funny you find that CA does not work on basswood. I have used medium CA a lot on basswood and it works fine. But beware end grain. There the CA soaks into the pores rapidly and the joint will fail. Have you tried an accelerator? The only wood I have had trouble with is mahogany, which is a dense, hard wood. I have to clamp joints for 5 minutes or more before the CA will bind.
