I am about to start installing steam-bent frames in The Donald David, Maine Lobster Boat and it just occurred to me that the wet frames may not glue well.
I am using TiteBond 3, as suggested by members of SOS. That glue is considered waterproof, but I want to be sure wet frames don't cause gluing problems.
Please advise.

Happy Modeling.

Have you thought of two step process?

Steam and fit wet frames and clamp or pin in place till dry.

Then use standard PVA or TiteBond 3 to glue dry frames to hull.

Just a thought.

I would think that since PVA is water soluble that wet wood would just delay the curing time a bit. I've glued dampish wood that I have steamed with no problem but it wasn't soaking wet.

I've used a heated plank bender when gluing wet wood. Applying heat makes the glue dry faster while also drying the wood and helping it take the shape.
