AMPHITRITE
corvette 1827 - 1851
Build at the Rijkswerf in Flushing in 1827 and launched on June 22, 1830.
Dimensions: 39 x 10.5 x 4.11 Dutch. Ellen. 850 tons wv. Armament: 32 pieces (later 20 pieces)
- 1830 in action for Antwerp.
- From 1831 to 1835 service in the Dutch East Indies where she took part in the expedition to the Lampongs with MEERMIN and HELDIN
- 1837 the armament was reduced to a corvette of 20 pieces (18 short guns of 30 lb. and 2 of 12 lb.). Was part of the training squadron
- 1838 a voyage to Dutch New Guinea. The following year she traveled to the West.
- 1851 taken out of service in Curaçao, because the AMPHITRITE was deemed unsuitable to return to the Netherlands.
