Busy on the Airfix 1/600 Fearless - any one knows whate these are? Slats? Vents? I see that some modellers gave them a red/red brown colour on their models. That the correct colour?
If you have any research to indicate what would be on the other side, or near these sections, you could make a reasonable guess. To my eye they look like vents.

This looks like the inside of the rear well deck which is flooded down to allow entry and offload of the larger landing craft. On the original vessel (Falklands 82 veteran) they where just unpainted wooden planks fitted to the side for protection.
Agree - we had to work fast… day / night. One min. cannibalising lovely ships. Then told to put together. Anything goes - Steal or … used, corners cut etc… At Chatham, overtime was ))…. (( … money ))… as for quality ??? If you want correct look see before 1983. Water drain was one …. Venting / air etc was another. Metal was approx 5 to 10 mm (depending on location) but not 100% sure now (sorry)… but we used gauge not mm. The ship class is well documented.
Why open another thread on the same topic? (You did the same with your Hood).
All of the above could be asked on your original thread.
That way, you keep it all together.
