I was not sure about the insides of the bulwarks, whether to paint them red or varnish them,
This shows the template for the bulwarks, I have painted it red to see what it looks like, it can be removed as it is only the template,
I then decided to varnish them, thinking that if I did not like the varnish look I could still paint them red, the last six pics shows them varnished, what do you guys think, I'd like to know

So I masked off the bulwark areas.

These next six pics show the varnished bulwarks and the fittings.
All opinions appreciated.

I like the varnish. It matches the other things on the deck like the ladders and bollards. Will you put a satin clear over the varnish color?

G'day Norgale, the varnish itself is Satin, I'm looking for what used to be called Eggshell Varnish,
it is clear and in between Matt varnish and Satin varnish, thank you for viewing my log,

best regards john.

AMAZING work Brother. table, chairs, Painting everything nice Clean Perfection I like that you pinned the rails I do that for just about everything that gets mounted to the deck for extra hold strength especially like to pin anything that has rigging tied to it. Great details like that make a great build spectacular

I think thats it for tonight, but just a little teaser of what is to come, I hope you are enjoying the build so far, its a little drawn out but I know new comers to the hobby have a lot of questions and I try to show how things go together, View attachment 23935
I think some of the established kit manufactures could learn a few lessons from ZHL. JANET
