Most of the lights are on now. It has been really difficult to get them all to light up. There is 2 or 3 that is not active but i will let them be. Now i will continue the planking

Hello and thank you for kind words. I have been back and forward with the level of details, im happy with it, but i see some things that i would like to change. Unfortunately thats not possible now as its already closed up and unreachable now.

Yes this is the newest biggest version i think. I bought it on release date. Its a great kit.
I would like to buy more from zhl, but i think there has been an increase in price on almost all the kits so they are currently a littlebit out of my comfort zone for the moment. They are great and probably worth the price but its still allot of money.

My workbench is not that tidy now! Its only between project change its that clean :) now there is wood scrap and tools everywhere

The first layer of planking is probably finished tommorrow. And i will put some filler/putty and sand it down soon

G'day Frank, I have never really fancied this kit, that is until I have read your log, it really is a fascinating build with lots of open area's to view in, and you have made some rather quaint little scenario's with the fittings, like the skeleton, I just love him, and your lanthorns look spectacular, could you show us how you made them, look forward to seeing more of the build,

best regards John.

To be honest i havent done allot of my own creativity, im just following the instructions and photos on the pages in it. This is a very straigt up build following instructions very closely. So i cant take too much of the credit. Its a great kit and i think everyone that makes it will have a very good result.

The lanterns are all included in the kit as photo etched parts. I will take some photos of the parts. its very easy to make. Only thing thats not easy is soldering those small smt leds. That was painfull and i lost motivation many times:)

I am sure its possible to buy the light system or lanterns if you ask Max. It contains a small motherboard that can be controlled with a remote where you can adjust light strenght, speed and probably over 20 diffrent patterns the led will light up and dim.

I have now filled up the first planking layer with spackle and sanded it down a many times. It feels good to go to the second layer of black walnut strips soon.
Now i am adding the door and windows to jack sparrow or blackbeards cabin.
The doors needs 4 hinges, unfortunately there was only 2 left. I have probably lost 2 hinges when making the other doors inside the hull.
So i had to make my own hinges.
Not very great looking but it does the job for me.

The window frames needed to be sanded to get them to look a bit better. I also added a thin plastic bit to make it look like there was glass aswell.

A good start with your Second planking.
Mistakes are ok, if you the same never twice.....planking work is realy special and it needs some experience (and models) to make it without mistakes.......try and error.....and try
