Has any of the moderators been keeping track of the number of new members of the SOS forum and the rate of growth? It would be interesting to know!!

I am following this in a small statistic sheet, so I can answer this question more in detail (for the time I am Mod):

in April we had 45 new members -> 1,5 per day
in May we had 52 -> 1,7 per day
in June we had 61 -> 2 per day
and in July already 12 in the first four days -> 3 per day (but this has no statistical hard basis after only 4 days)

so we are not only continously growing, also our growing rate is slightly increasing. In addition we have a much bigger growing rate of visitors and guests, lurkers which are not registered but coming very regularly to see what is going on.
But we should not start to speculate, when we have or 10.000 member celebration ;)

For us also very important, and I think most important is the fact, that our members are more and more active in writing posts, to participate in the communication.
The number of active members with new topics and posts is growing permanently, and this makes the forum what it is !!!

Please all help us, participate and share with us our common hobby

And to all lurkers and guests:

Register yourself Now!
It costs nothing, only some 2 or 3 clicks.....
and you are a part of this friendship and you can participate in the communications

G'day Dave
Our membership is now at 1157. Its a growth of about 1 to 2 new members a day.
I think our discussion rate has increased 3 folds compare to what it was last year.
Onwards and upwards,
are the way SOS are heading.

Just an update. In less than 24 hours since my answer to you we are now at 1161 members. That's 4 new members in about 20 hours. That's is great news to anyone.

Thank you very much!! Began model ship building over 60 years ago under my father's tutelage in the midwest. After careers both in the Navy and Law Enforcement, I'm now long retired in the small boat-building village of East Boothbay, ME. Admiral MacMillan's arctic exploration schooner "Bowdoin" was built in what is now my 'backyard.' I'm in the process of rehabbing a basement workshop, and have several model ship projects ready to go. I've built a number of both RC scale and wooden sailing ships (static.) I'll soon post photos of models; building and built.

Good day. I am modeling a boat for the soul and for pleasure. I use the talent I have. I see boats as art, and not blindly following a plan on paper. Therefore, creativity is in the first place. Of course I use practical knowledge in graphing and 3D simulation. Corel, Solidworks, Simplify 3D, Adobe and other applications.
I am glad to meet the creative people of the forum, as well as share experiences

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I have been building RC model aircraft since the early sixties and recently given up building things with wings and am shifting to things with sails.
Lots of information here for me to glean.
Right now I'm trying to decide on what will be my first build.
