Here is a pic of the ammunition racks inside one of the 40mm Bofors mount. Please remember that these images are magnified and do show some inconsistency in the placement of the pieces. If anyone has any negative comments, all I can say is "You do it better".

I love the wooden deck. Really helps make it look real. I bought the one veneer for the Titanic that has over 10,000 individual planks to represent and it really looks great. I will be using this when I build it but it was not cheap. Since the ship is over 6 feet long, the planking sets was over $350.00.

Hey Gary
The wooden decks for both the Bismarck and Missouri projects were included with the add-on kits I purchased. The wood itself is roughly 0.25mm thick and I would assume it is produced on a machine that cut it and defines it's character with some sort of laser. The engineering is just superb. Fortunately, the expense is no where near what you paid for the Titanic, which was down in the $200 range for each of the add-on kits.

Next I am going to work on the crane that mounts on the stern. The following pics show the assembly of the control unit. The paper clip used in these pics is one of the small ones. After this, my son Richard suggested I use a dime for clarity.
The first pic shows the components
The second shows the completed controller
The third shows it mounted on the stern

Here is a shot of the crane with the first 8 cross braces installed. For the photography buffs out there, I shot this hand held using aperture priority at f32 for 1/4 second with a 300mm lens. Phew!

Excellent work Jim and thank you for taking the time to post some step by step images :text-thankyouyellow:

Kind Regards

Nigel

Thanks Nigel

Next thing to be assembled are the catapults. There are two, one on each side of the ship.

Here are the parts that make up the first stage of the assembly.
