Hi. I found my grandfathers tools while cleaning my storage box. Het was a carpenter during and after the second world war. All the wooden tools are verry dried out. Think all the moister is gone. From some tools in dont know what they can be used for. Maybe some one here knows. The first picture i dont know what it is. And the 4th one in do also not know. And the original chest.

A bit of linseed for the wood / reviver & soak the rusty metal ones invinegar & a scub, then a quick oil rubbing. Used to love going to local auctions and bidding on old tool/ bolt buckets. You'd win them for $2 - 5 bids . Most of the older stuff cleans up nicely. (oh and lasts). I think the "Antiques" fad ruined that!.

1 looks like it has to do with wire.

The first too looks like a screw plate for chasing or cutting threads- are the holes threaded? It there are a lot of teeth on the square handle projection that could be a thread file for cleaning up male threads- a VERY useful tool.

The rest are file a wood plane some sockets a multi wrench Bubble level in this picture below the axe looking thing with the rectangular hole is a hand Hewing Adz used to carving out logs for canoes and such I have one that was my grandfathers He was a full blooded Cherokee Indian who used to make his own canoes from logs. at any rate you have some nice old tools I would hold onto them especially if they have any sentimental value to you. Older tools were made way better then todays tools are .
