Sometimes, when I am working on my ship, I often think about what it was like to sail on one of those huge ships. I think about the hard work of managing the Yards, Sails at the Officers command when they needed to change course. Then comes the storms !! That was rough enough and had to keep the ship on its course while being pelted with hard rain and the elements; hot and cold.

Wars did not happen instantly - it took time to sail across the oceans to face your enemy. Or, the wars could have been just off your coastline. Whichever, it was a lot of work and man power. Everyone had their job to do. The men that "manned the Cannons", while the crew managed the direction of the ship and kept the ship in correct form to attack the enemy just right. What a Ride of your Life !

Well, I guess the point I will try to make this time is that just like then with this analogy, every one of us face the same perils of life. Maybe on a greater or lesser degree. We are all faced with the storms, and battles in our life. I don't know about you, but I certainly have and sometimes it seems like it does not let up any to take a break. Then sometimes, it seems like I am no where just drifting along, but lo and behold, there is usually a battle brewing somewhere. Sometimes we can see those warning signs ahead of us. Just like of old when the Captain could see the Mast Tops just peeking over the horizon. Sometimes, we can't see those Mast before it is too late !!!

What do we do ? It is most often when we reach into ourselves to find strength to carry on. Then we get burned out waiting for things to change for the better, or we run out of our own strength.

Well, this Devotional is not meant to probe into your own personal beliefs about God as this is a personal thing and it is really for you to come to own conclusions. The only thing I can say is that even though I do have storms and uncertainty in my life, I choose to lean on the "Commander and Master" to manage my sails to make sure I am going in the right direction. Not only that, His Armament is better than mine !!!

I can not identify the source or the true nature of it all I can say is I just don't know. But I will say there is something that is drawing people from all over the world to this place and it is far greater than just a model ship.
