Hello to all and a big 'thank you' for accepting me into the forums.

I'm a total novice when it comes to model shipbuilding but looking to learning from everyone here.

I recently started a kit I bought 'second hand' although temporarily on hold whilst in the middle of a house move. The kit is the Sergal Bomb Vessel 'Race Horse' so hopefully it will be a starting point of a long and enjoyable hobby. My goal is to ultimately learn how to scratch build something along the lines of a late-18th/early-19th century Royal Navy ship.

Just browsing the forums has absolutely blown my mind with some of the amazing work done by members! If I can get to be a tenth as good I'll be a very happy chappy!

Best wishes to all

Stephen (sdrb59)

Hallo and a warm welcome here on board of our forum.
Our experience here in our forum tells, that it is the best to start a building log of your current model, the Race Horce, so you can show your work and status and we can assist and help where necessary and requested. Have fun

Welcome and I hope the move goes well. It will be great if you could start a build log of the Race Horse when you get to it as we would all be interested. Regards.

Welcome Stephen !!! You're correct about some amazing works from some very talented people that are at this site, but with every kit built, the knowledge and skills keep improving. I'm on my 5th kit and I continue to learn new skills and techniques and much of what I have learned is from sites such as this. As others have said, people in here are very helpful in offering tips and advice when needed. Smooth sailing on your build.
