Hi all
I kit built for years, then stuff got in the way but now I would like to dive into the mysterious world of scratch.
I will be starting the Friedrich Wilhelm from Euromodel and having studied the plans and some books I might be ready to go beyond the kit.
My question at this time is making the planks etc.
I have several sources

Hi Bill,
have a look at fellow forum member (Neptune's ) thread on his scratch built Fridrich Wilhelm, its spectacular !
I built Friedrich Wilhelm, the kit from Euromodels many years ago and their plans are very detailed for scratch building. As for your question on making planks, you can invest in a quality table saw like Byrnes model machines, or purchase planks from model ship retailers.

Hi. I am making the wilhelm also. Bought the kit from a man who stopped building. The hull was ready with first planking. I am now doing the second planking but the first layer was bent heavely so the wood breaks with little pressure on it. Its a good learning school but i never buy a kit that some one worked on again.gonna follow your build.
