Looks outstanding Zoltan. Do you plan to leave it all natural wood?

Thanks Mike, yes she stays natural ,actually already has 2 coats of flat poly on her.

Hi Zoly

Nice pick up. The Santa Maria is looking great.

Cheers

Hello Zoltan, Your Santa Maria is looking very good. I know I have caused you enough grief with the rudder already and I hate to say more, but I think the pintles(strap with the pin) should be on the rudder and the gudgeons(straps with the eye) on the stern post. Unless your plans show different, and I then apologise, that is how I have seen it normally done. Some ships have a pintle at the top of the rudder and one at the bottom of the stern post, in this case the pintles are much longer.
Sorry to be a pain

I have enjoyed reading through your build, the pictures from the deck make it feel like I am stood on the deck, very realistic,
Cheers Andy

Hello Don,thanks for your input, you are not a pain. The pintles and the gudgeon are the same ,supplied in the kit, they are the same size and look alike too,So no matter how I installe would look like the same,I just did not want to scratch build these too, actually the kit supplied plywood and fittings are piece of crap,I had to scratch built everything,I only used the keel, bulkheads and side plates.

Hello Zoltan

Just catching up on your build the Santa Maria. Just back from two weeks of R & R vacation and have not opened up my Old Ship Yard as yet. Great job you are doing on your ship. I sure do like all of the extra time you are spending on the finer details, your new Rudder sure is looking great, just love those Tooth Picks Collins that you used for your railings, must get some of those, ENJOY.

Regards Lawrence
