This may take me a bit.
If anyone's interested and Donnie does not mind I'll do a build of it in the tools section.

By for now.

Been awhile, got distracted for a few weeks and also had a break from the fiddley bits.

Anyway the new toy and the bow deck area have been completed.

Oh and Xcarve competed & calibrated much to the dismay of Admiral - It was the zooming & homing noise that for some reason kept being repeated! ;-) ZOOM ZOOM !

On wards we go. Oh the joys of bending Mahogany. The stern poop deck is now completed and the major railings added. Yea! 'NO MORE CANNONS' !

The kit called for 1.5 x 4 mm walnut, but they did not supply enough for both port & starboard rails. However I did have lots of Mahogany left from the hull, so mahogany rails it was.

The only problem was the tight 45d bends over a short span. Boiling water and lots of yelling fixed it ( after a few or so broke).

Now on to the steps & rubbing stakes.

G'day Paul. I dont know how I missed your build, I've now marked it as watch, and I will go back through your log later on, she is looking good,

best regards John.

Tks all, she is a test of will!. The bigger the AL kit the bigger the challenges. Still stiff upper lip, carry on what what. There no NO cannibalism in the British navy.

"As a naval officer I abhor the implication that the Royal Navy is a haven for cannibalism. It is well known that we have the problem relatively under control, and that it is the R.A.F. who now suffer the largest casualties in this area. And what do you think the Argylls ate in Aden? Arabs? Yours etc. Captain B.J. Smethwick in a white wine sauce with shallots, mushrooms and garlic.":)
